Kapihan
Battersea
SW11
Welcome! In my second post I will be reviewing a new cafe spot for me - Kapihan in Battersea.
Kapihan is a corner coffee shop serving sweet and savoury pastries and coffess from the Phillipines.
The Pastry
The Look
My first time trying a Chocolate Spanish Bread. It was a delicious chocolate and hazelnut crème filled sourdough pastry.
Their signature croissant only features on the weekends and this was a mid-week jaunt but I was more than happy to try the chocolate Spanish bread!
The Flavour
This pastry was heated up and had a wonderful chocolate nutty smell as I took the first bite. It was very tasty and did not last long! The filling was warm and oozes out on each bite.
The Coffee
I tried a delicious Spanish latte, my first time trying this particular drink. It was interesting - they use scalded milk poured over espresso and sweetened with a little honey or sugar. I highly recommend trying this drink out if you are after a slightly sweeter latte without going for a drink sweetened with syrup.
The Coffees & Croissants combo score
9/10 - well worth taking the time to visit this spot in Battersea. On a sunny summer morning the Spanish latte and Spanish Chocolate bread were a great combo. Be prepared to queue on the weekends! Weekdays are a little quieter but still a popular spot.
